Danny Greene

In 1982, I had an accident which caused my left foot to contract gangrene.  My amputation was on February 22, 1982 at the age of 21 years old.  At the time, I was an iron worker.  My amputation left me without a profession, and I felt like my life was over.  However, I met a prosthetist named Scot.  Scot helped me transition into wearing a prosthetic.  By the time I was 22 years old, I became a pipe fitter.  With Scot's help, I had completely renewed my life within one year after my amputation.  At the time, I was 6’5” and…

Cheryl Ingle

Hello, I am the grandmother of 5 children and 56 years old.  I love every minute of being their Nana. Over the years, I have been through many things.  Four years ago, I had a blockage in my legs which caused poor circulation.  This caused me to have both of my legs amputated which would forever change my life.  As a firm believer, I knew God was going to take care of me.  My faith would be challenged and there were difficult times.  One of the hardest parts was figuring…

I want to say thank you to Advanced Prosthetics for all the hard hours spent on helping me create my “Archery Arm”.  After several visits and adjustments, the final prosthesis has proved to be a perfect extension of my arm.  With the knowledge of your staff and a welder/machinist, I am now able to live the dream of shooting a bow!

For the first time ever, I was able to bow hunt for deer and had the time of my life.  Right now, I’m bow hunting hogs that have migrated…

Judi Roye Adler

Since 1985, I have been an above the knee amputee.  When I moved to South Carolina last year, I was very worried about finding someone to take care of my prosthetic needs.

I scheduled an appointment with Scot Thompson in Easley.  When I arrived, everyone at Advanced Prosthetics made me feel welcome and very much at ease.  Scot was knowledgeable, helpful, and kind.  I was comfortable asking him questions such as getting a different knee. Together, we determined the best microprocessor knee for me. Scot was extremely sensitive to my…

Timothy Rhinehart

As a native South Carolinian, I grew up trail riding and playing "Cowboys and Indians" on horseback in Kings Mountain State Park.  As a teenager, I began bull riding and became very involved in several rodeo circuits.  At 24 years old, I had a horrible car accident and lost my right leg just below the knee.  During my rehabilitation process, I worked with South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation and also found Scot Thompson a CP with Advanced Prosthetics.  After months of rehabilitation and physical therapy, I was finally received my first…

Farron Kendrick

I am a young, petite female with a very short above the knee amputation.  As an infant, I lost my left leg due to a blood clot.  I have always worn a hip disartic style prosthesis with a safety knee.  With my past prothetic, I experienced lots of back pain and heat rash.  Additionally, my clothes never fit correctly because of the extra bulk of my leg.  In the past, I have been very self-conscience about my walk and appearance.

Advanced Prosthetics helped me receive the C-leg and tried an new prosthetic style called a lock & pin suspension prosthesis. …

Tapley “Tap” Davis

In November of 2010, I visited Jim Williamson in the Spartanburg office for repairs and adjustments to my aging above the knee prosthesis.  My old prosthesis had served me well for approximately 5 years.  However, I had noticed that over the last couple of years, my stability on this prosthesis had deteriorated. I was stumbling more and was actually falling on an average of every 1 to 2 months.  After discussing this with Jim, he suggested that I may want to consider visiting the Ottobock website and check out the…

Our rock-star patient Mr. Pye who lost his leg in 1969 in a mill accident. He was working on a machine that was turned on and trapped his leg inside of it. He was able to free himself by using his boot with his sound leg. Mr. Pye has an amazing spirit and we grateful to have him as one of our patients!
