Out of Tragedy Transforms Purpose

Phillip Peters was an active young fifteen year old looking forward to playing football for his high school team. After joining the program, Phillip unfortunately suffered an injury breaking his right leg. In a tragic oversight, the cast applied to his leg was too tight cutting off the circulation. By the time the cast was removed, it was too late and Phillip was informed they would need to amputate his leg.

Determined to live life without limitations, Phillip found a new dedication in his life to learning about prosthetic and orthotic care, aiming to improve the lives of individuals who, like him, had faced the loss of a limb. His goal was simple: to help patients be as active as possible and to enhance their overall quality of life. In 1998, Mr. Peters founded Advanced Prosthetics looking to help others facing similar challenges. Our company slogan was hence born: Amputees Serving Amputees. Phillip decided enlisted the help of his wife, Miriam Peters, who had O&P experience at Shriners Children's Hospital to help run the company. She quickly became the acting CEO and remained so for many years until recently

What Sets Us Apart

Besides the personalized patient care, one of the unique aspects of Advanced Prosthetics is our team members. We are fortunate to have several employees who are amputees themselves. This is a powerful resource for our patients, as they are able to empathize with their struggles and share valuable insights from their own experiences. This personal connection not only helps patients feel understood but also provides them with the confidence that they are in the hands of qualified professionals who truly care about their well-being.

Advanced Prosthetics is now a part of the Mobility Ideal Health Group of Companies, which has locations in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
